Portland’s historic city election is less than two weeks away! Are you ready? In This Edition: City leaders: Budget, labor relations reaching key milestones This week, city leaders shared updates about the city’s upcoming budget process and labor negotiations. With expenses growing faster than revenues, Mayor Ted Wheeler asked most services to develop concepts for cutting at least 5 percent from their budgets. Those targets do not account for any new spending, including money committed to three active labor negotiations that will establish pay, benefits and working conditions for 2,000 employees.
